Ta, just ordered 3 tins :-)

Hi guys,

I'm looking at Scotchgarding my interior (can pick up 2 cans for £11) using this:- http://www.3mdirect.co.uk/p-955-scotchgard-protector-for-leather-clothing-soft-furnishings-fabrics-upholstery-400ml.aspx

Has anyone used it before on Alacantara?

Thanks

Andy

Thanks for this link btw, i ordered 3 tins almost as soon as i read the description!

Its perfect for me, brand new car and a 2 yr old and 2 collies....gets messy quick!

Just to update that I attacked the interior of the car today with this.

It took around 1.5 cans to do the car including the boot however I went to town on the front areas (I go a lot of muddy places during autumn/winter) and doubled it up to use the rest of the second can.

This stuff is potent and cannot be inhaled which is a wee bit difficult to do when working in a car!

Make sure you have every door open, including the boot and try to hold your breath whilst inside the car.

I also left the doors and windows open for a good 25min after spraying to ventilate the car before locking her up for the night.

I intend to do the same in the morning before I drive her.

You've probably used enough if you used 1.5 cans already Andy

Well it has been on the car now for 48 hours and the car well.... stinks. I'm having to drive with my windows down to ventilate the car.

This stuff is giving off a chemical after odour which is quite strong. I would liken it to the smell of the polycement you use to put aircraft models together.

Google says the smell last a few "days" but also says it can be harmful.

Out of everyone that's used Scotchgard, how long did the smell last?
