Anyone seen these wheels fitted to a yeti?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has seen these wheels fitted to a yeti. I think they are a style called vega and are r16 They have came up for sale locally and I think they might do for a set of winter wheels. They are 16 x 6.5j ET 50. post-103241-0-35184600-1380712446_thumb.jpg

Had though about those myself, but my insurance would only take Skoda UK recommendations which is 7J x16 ET45 with 205/55/16  94H or V  for winter wheels and tyres even though mine came with 17" from factory.

I shopped around and just ( this morning ) got a deal with Rainworth Skoda for a set of Hankook winters on Skoda steels for £499 .

TP has written a very helpful post some time ago on wheel and tyre sizes if you can find it.

Hope this helps

I'm lucky in that my insurance company have no limitations on fitting winter wheels. Just as long as I wasn't going to bigger size wheels I'm grand. I was thinking of just sticking to the skoda recommended 205 55 16 or perhaps go for the larger 215 60 16.

As a follow on to my last post Jonathan at Rainworth informed me that when the old Skoda steels run out of stock the new ones will have a different parts no and also be £25 per wheel dearer.

OUCH!!!! They are already pretty steep at nearly£60 per rim. Hence me looking at used alloys

Not those, but I have a set of MSW 22 alloys which are 16x6.5 ET48 for my winters (205/55/16 94H XL Nokian WR A3s). They clear the brakes of the 170 fine.

Your insurance may have no problem with fitting winter wheels as do most, but you may find not fitting  a recommended size ie 7Jx16 ET45 may be a problem. And if your thinking of 215x16 tyres, they require a 7"wide rim.

Snowy is just back, having had winter tyres fitted today.

I'm staying with the 17" spitzberg alloys and bought Nokian WR D3's for just over £400.

£60 inc vat to have them swapped over.

I would have loved to buy a set of matterhorn alloys but they're a tad expensive.

You've good taste Marie. The matterhorns would look nice though not sure how the diamond cut sections would stand up to the winter salt on the road :-(. How are you finding the drive with the nokians?

I've only driven up the hill from collecting Snowy so far, so its too early to tell.

I'm going to pick up the spare wheels for swmbo's Leon later which have just be shod with some D3s.
