Bolt length

Featured Replies

Ok guys... Oem boltd the thread is 27mm with most places supplying 28mm on aftermarket

Question..... Is the hole deeper than this

Say 30mm ?

Or say u use a 5mm spacers will a 35m thread bolt fit and go ok

Cheers guys

Only my opinion bud but I think you may be okay for a few mm

Used to run old school beetles n buses and always got away with a few mm on the bolts due to the shamfered on the end of the aftermarket bolts and the taper can sometimes be different giving you a bit more forgiveness....:)

Well the std bolts are approx 29mm so typically you go the same as the spacers.

But yep 35mm is cool.

I went 36mm for my 8mm rear spacers and 42mm for my front 12mm spacers

rule of thumb is extend bolts by same width of spacer

Sorry to bump an old thread, but would 45mm bolts and 15mm spacers work on the front? Where I bought my hub spacers from swore blind they'd be fine, as it is dead space behind.

you can have longer than necessary on the back with no problems but if you over do it on the front the wheel won't turn... 45 - 15 = 30 standard is 27 so 3mm should be ok but what you have to also consider is that tappered bolts go in further than the standard radius bolts.

if you find they're too long then at least you can chop some off rather than too short
