Year 2000 , front wheel bearings failing

Featured Replies

Did year of checkups some 3 months ago. The guy checking thought he found some not good on my RH front wheel ....

He could not define totally what the problem was so I got *"free to go"   :)

Just that I can HEAR very loud something is not good.

Question for today:

When I turn Right sound disappeaer ... else it is totally typical wheel bearing fail sound ....

So I think my RIGHT wheel front bearing is bad

Just looking for confirmation .... yes is that a typical  symtom for what side is the problem ???

Think you are correct.

I have a similar issue - the garage agreed it was a wheel bearing however because there was no play in the wheels they couldn't say for sure if it was front or back.

I think I have the same problem...only the opposite side lol I'm hoping its only the bearing. This seems like a good conformation. Lol

The bearings have a double ball bearing race in a single shell. When you turn, one of the races is loaded and the other is unloaded.

For this reason, you need to use a 'chassis ear' or raise the wheels off the ground and spin them to determine which side has the bad bearing.
