Im thinking of getting my car re-mapped. I was going to get the EGR mapped out at the same time. If I do this, what are the side effects? Does the car start to shudder when you switch off the engine etc?

 

Also, I am 50/50 as to whether to put the 150 nozzles on my 110 injectors, shoul di do this first? What difference would it make?

EGR delete won't cause the engine to shudder on shutdown as the anti shudder valve still operates. I'd say there's a slight increase in fuel consumption as the engine will take longer to warm up.

Pretty sure if you put 150 injectors in you need to get a remap to get any performance gain. Someone will probably be along soon to confirm.

Cheers Paul. Im not sure on the injectors anyway at the moment, the cars on 140k and original turbo and clutch. getting it all done might finish her off.

Pd injectors won't fit into an injection pump engine!

Ah so the 110 isn't PD then. I thought they did come in 110 form too, or was that a 115?

No Guys, its not a PD, but i was going to get a set of 110 injectors with 150 (or 0.216 is it) nozzles. I put 110 injectors in my 90 and actually got a boner with the difference, but now i want to do similar to my 110. I know the injectors are difference, i just mean nozzles. Its such an easy job, I thought I might as well. but dont want to finish my old engine with a noisy tappet off.

Pd engines were 105 or 115 IIRC.

I have a feeling that beyond a stage 1 remap you need to change more that just nozzles to get appreciably more power.
