Interior rear lights

Featured Replies

Good arvo fellow briskodians

Dies anyone know of a mod or oe fitment rear interior light for the octy mk1 as I'm struggling to bolt the kids in their cages at night:)

Any help or links greatly appreciated especially if they come with wiring schematics, free lights and complimentary fitting!!!!!:)

Hmmm, wonder if there are black ones like it available...

Or at least dark grey.

Blinding :) thanks for that link buddy and nice job rob:)

Yeap they do them in Black, and grey

I have them in mine too, and much better for the kids getting into car..

I never figured out how to have them come on independently as well as with the door open though.

Having previously done this on my old Octavia I can vouch for Robs guide - It's excellent!!

Here is a link to what I did on my Fabia might be of use.... Especially if you want it to have 3 functions - albeit you only have 2 connections on the back of the light fitting, so you would need to double up the (+) wiring.

The picture and colour coded wires illustrate which is live (independent setting), switched live (door) and earth.

Hope that helps.

Did you actually get your Octavia to be multi function though?

The Std function on the Octy's are:

- Independly on/off on rear light regardless of door open or close or front interior light (but not come on with door open)

I managed to get mine to just switch on with doors open.

Looking at your fabia post pic 2 shows  3 yellow wires coming out of a light switch.

What is that light switch as the Rear octy ones are different.

Also the Rear octy std light only has a plug with 2 wires (you can see that in Rob install guide)

Interested in your feedback buddy. As been wanting to get multi functioning rear lights too.

Looks like if we want "multi-function" rear lights we need to fit different light assemblies, which have 3 pins - ground, +12v perm, +12v door-open

yep i think so buddy..

I suspect I should sort out my fronts before faffing about with the rears.  About a year ago they flickered on and off when I was driving down the road and then a few weeks later they did it again, and remained on.  I am figuring a broken/shorting wire somewhere between the door/body maybe?  Making the CCU think a door is open?  The flashing LED works correctly, and the car auto locks again after 30 seconds of unlocking if I don't open a door.
