Roof rails?

Featured Replies

Hello, today I saw a Fabia mk2 hatchback which had roofrails installed!

Is there any OEM-ones available to your guys (and gals) knowledge?

Nope, that is all :)

Damn damn damn, you mean that I have to track down that one Fabia and see what has been done :P?

Do you mean side to side roof bars (like a roof rack), or front to back roof rails (a la estate/combi)?

The one I saw had front-to-back, but I'm pretty much looking for anything that might fit :P.

Saw another one today, a Monte-Carlo! I wonder how the standard-ones are attached...

Are you sure your not seeing the monte carlo estate?? Sorry to ask but just incase.

As far as i can tell the bars are bolted on through from the inside.

Hope that helps

The roof rails on the estates have allen bolts that go through the roof from the outside into captivated threads. The estate bars are too long to fit the hatch. No doubt you could find some somewhere that will do the job and fitting should not be a problem if you are confident with drills and removing headlinings etc. dont' drill anything without checking inside the car first. It's easy to drill through cables and pipes in the roof space.

Thank you for that, got the instructions for it from a mechanic :D!

Hey Fredde,

If you get any links, can you post them up.

We do a lot of camping and outdoors stuff and if I could make it work lookswise I would consider putting on some rails.

ooo maybe we need someone to photoshop this into reality first :)
