Calliper refurb

Featured Replies

My rear O/S calliper seized again a couple of weeks ago, the first time in over 18 months since putting the return spring on. So I've decided to remove the old 232's and put on the 256's from the Octavia vRS, which I picked up from another forum member (Cheers Oet) but are in less than adequate condition;

As you can see, some of the paint is bubbling (I assume the wrong paint was used??) and I need to replace the piston seal (seal kit purchased) so I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas how to strip the old paint off without sending to a business to do?!

Any suggestions appreciated, otherwise it will be a very slow process trying to scrape all the crappy paint off with a screw driver/very stiff wire brush and sand down after :(

Get them powder coated. It wont cost a lot and they will be new again!
