I'm currently on an Octavia 1.9 tdi saloon ambiente, having had 2 Estelles and 2 Favorites. Let the wife use the last Favorit, while I had a Montego diesel, which enginewise was not bad........ but rusted like nothing else. Went for a Peugeot 406 diesel, which was quite comfy.......... but TERRIBLE for fuel economy - 41 mpg on a good day. After owning the Octy for 16 months, I still cant believe how good it is... goes like stink (sorry officer) and when I'm being good returns 68 mpg
