Hi. Just registered as I have acquired an Octavia 1.9tdi. Was scanning the web and cam across this forum and must say it is just what I need. Not being familiar with Skodas I'm sure the site will come in handy. My car is circa 2002 so will suffer some problems.

Welcome, 1.9tdi is a solid motor and the Mk1's IMO were of a better build quality than successive models.  

Welcome to the forum. The 1.9 was one of the best engines vw have built. Use the correct oil and it will do stella miles with no problems. There will be loads of stuff in the mkI section you should find useful and if you can't find what you're after ask away..
