Have completed approx 1250 miles in the 3 weeks I've had my car ( must cut down the mileage !) and am delighted with what I consider to be a magnificent beast  .

 

Today we did a 150 mile round trip on a mix of roads (M'way, but mostly A & B roads), sometimes in utter darkness and torrential rain   - the car was impeccable, & despite the horrendous conditions at times, it felt rock solid, thoroughly "planted" & devoid of any squeaks, rattles or creaks.

 

Driving with the the combination of the brilliant DSG 'box, cruise control and the headlight assist meant all I had to do was STEER the car, making for a very relaxing drive even in those conditions.

Flicking between "Nav" (clear instructions), "Media" ( I use a flash drive for my music) and "Car" (for mpg info etc) kept me amused / informed, and with my overall mpg being a consistent 55 mpg so far I am not only impressed with my first Skoda, I am totally convinced it's the best car I've owned, better by far than the BMW's,Mercedes, Fords, Honda's & Audi's I've had - the only one that comes close is the 7 Series BMW I drove, but 22mpg (petrol version) was a major shortcoming ! 

 

Everything works as it should & gives me the impression it always will - it really does feel solid as a rock and, obviously slightly biased now (!?!), I love my car  :love:

 

PS For anyone waiting for theirs to arrive, it really will be worth it, honest .

Hopefully I'll be one of them in a couple of months 

The VRS is a great car, and I have ordered one but my 3-year old 3-Series feels more solidly built, as did the Audi A4 Avant I considered as an alternative. The VRS did however feel better built than the Mazda and Ford's (Focus ST was an option due to family members Emplyee discount) I was considering.

 

It's a great car, but German rivals do "feel" better built. As they should because they cost much more.
