FL Towbar

Featured Replies

It's probably too early to be asking this, but does anyone know if a pre-FL towbar will fit the FL or will it be completely different?

If it's the same, I can get one fitted for half the dealer price but if it's different it will probably have to be a dealer fit.

Cheers once again.

I've got the same question wondering if I should take mine off and transfer it onto my new FL when it arrives.

I think because the FL is purely cosmetic the chassis structure will be the same on both.

Since there has been no floorpan change, and only a minor cosmetic change to the back bumper i suspect it will be the same bar.

Doesn't it list a part number on the Configurator?

I'll check later when I'm at the PC, my tablet doesn't like the configurator :)

I thought the cheapest option would have been to order a factory fit towbar ?

Definitely!  The history of Yeti towbars is approaching epic proportions.  My future Yeti will have the factory fit towbar.

I know this topic has raised its head so often but after reading many of these posts I thought I could re-assure anybody who is considering having one!

Confirmed the pre facelift towing bracket is the same one for the facelift indoor and outdoor models.

Just had a towbar fitted by the same people who did my last Yeti. Everything works as it should regards the electrics and reprogramming.

I only wanted 7pin electrics but now the wiring kits come complete with a 13pin socket connected and sealed. To fit a 7pin socket is possible but Westfalia will not warranty the electrics if they have been altered.

They threw in an adapter which I was surprised how compact it is when its all plugged in it is only an inch longer than the usual setup.

I've got a Witter fixed bracket with a 2 bolt flanged ball so I can fit my bike rack as well, The hole cut in the bumper is a minimal size of 1.1/2" or 36mm and looks very tidy.

Tow bar with Westfalia dedicated wring kit and recoding all for £339.

There are fitters out there who can do the job as it should be done!       Thanks to NWT

Now that IS very interesting RickT. Thanks for letting us all know.
