I'm the new owner of a 2010 Fabia 1.6 TDI CR SE. It is my first diesel car (although in my younger days I was a 'white vanman' charging around in Transits and Ivecos - High pressure water pump fitter). I'm hoping it will deliver as good a service as my old Astra Club (200K before it was part ex'd for the Fabia!). I did a lot of research before I chose the Fabia (VAG technology - but a much better deal than buying a VW or Audi) - should be ideal for my 70 miles a day commute to work (35 miles each way) on the A303 dual carriage way (keep the DPF filter happy).

 

One of my first comments would be the useless gear-change indicator: indicates gear changes much too early - I change up at just over 2000 rpm - the engine seems much happier! Very pleased with the car otherwise.
