Bread Oven Removal

Featured Replies

Hello.

Ive a rattle under the bread oven, maybe air vent related. Does anyone know how to get it out? I cant see any screws. The vents made an awful grinding/jamming noise when I started the car a couple of days ago so I suspect something has jammed/broken/come loose in the mechanism somewhere.

Its off to the dealers on Friday for a service so if I cant look myself I'll ask them to add it to the growing list of things to look at:

Boot light not working (I checked & replaced the bulb but no joy).

Rattle from behind the steering wheel when the engine is under load.

Water ingress by the bonnet release (from the sun roof drain maybe)

Missing rubber feet on the bonnet (goodness knows where these have gone!)

Creaking form the B pillar or rear door seal.

Crisp packet style rattle from behind the center air vents.

I think its going to be an expensive trip to the dealer.

PS - Bread oven = cubby on top of the dash in the center :)

Neat!  Just like our Panasonic!

There are instructions on how to remove the cubby on top of the dash in Great Yeti's technical article about installing an aftermarket sat nav in there - see HERE.

Crisp-packet style rattle from behind the air vents could be dead leaves that have got in to the ventilation system somehow?

The mysteriously missing rubber feet from your bonnet sounds rather like the engine cover on my Yeti, which turned out one day to have one of its rubber bungs inexplicably not there.  I blame aliens.

Another thought: based on the photos in Great Yeti's article, it looks like removing the cubby doesn't give direct access to the centre vents.

I've been meaning to ask for a while how to remove the vents.  Apparently it's one way to get at the specification label on the Bolero.  The other way is to remove the Bolero - for which Great Yeti also has a tutorial HERE - but if removing the vents is easier and less likely to cause cosmetic damage, then I'd prefer to do that.
