I've just been sent this rather fetching image of what is called the Rapid Sport concept

 

 

Does anyone know if this is likely to see production? I'm holding off the Rapid order pending the arrival of the Spaceback as it may suit my needs more. However a vRS version of the model would immediately part me from my cash. I've enquired at our local dealership but the salesman would only confirm that either a vRS OR a special edition would be produced. Skoda say 'No'. Then 'Don't know'. Then another rumour surfaces that a vRS is in the pipeline. 

Want to have all the facts before ordering a car, i'd be crushed to order a 1.2tsi then have the daddy surface.

That's quite an old image now - they have no plans to release a sport version as far as I know.

Bossfox fitted a boot spoiler and some 18's to his Rapid which is something I plan on doing soon.

I certainly hope so, i'd be furious committing to buying a car and then one i'd rather have get released. 

There won't be a vRS but I'm pretty sure there will be some kind of Sport version next year (ie. body kit, sports interior, nice wheels) At the Frankfurt motorshow one of the Spacebacks was running a lip spoiler and side skirts and an interior similar to that from the Citigo Sport:

Well I've had a very nice man from Skoda UK ring this morning and confirm the following;

 

No vRS Rapid full stop. However a 'sport' variant of the Sportback will be released in the coming weeks. 

 

spoke to salesman at local dealer today when son in law picked up a spaceback  and he mentioned a rapid VRS possibly end of year ??

CEO says they only need an Octavia VRS range , they are happy with the sales volumes, of the flash with no guts Monte Carlo range.

 

Citigo, Fabia  Rapid.

will be interesting to watch if they stick to that or they do extend it out to rapid / fabia again
