Which lance to use?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm entering the snow foam/pressure wash world and I've just purchased the basic Karcher K2 washer that comes with the standard lance and the "dirt blaster" extra pressure lance; I've also purchased the foam lance.

Is it OK to use the standard lance on the car or should I buy a variable lance and tone it down?

I prefer to snow foam with the Karcher, I use an AD lance, and then switch to regular garden hose gun to rinse off, I never rinse with the pressure washer. Mostly because the water tends to run off the car more with the open hose leaving less to dry and its a more controlled rinse but also some would say that the P/W risks pushing grit across the paintwork (think this is splitting hairs tbf) but something to consider. Using the vario lance I would still go to low pressure setting for personal preference as above but as long as you respect distance I don't think you'd have much problem however you do it.

I know it doesn't NEED to be said but please DONT take the dirt blaster patio Nozzle anywhere near the car

Thanks, going to give it a try tomorrow afternoon before a TBM wash, polish and resin ready for the freezing weather coming in.

Hopefully should see the car through the winter.
