Px Value

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm just after a part Ex value for my current car, I can't help but feel I missed out when I swapped in my previous car not knowing what I should have got for it. The spec is as follows:

Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0TDi CR 170PS Hatch
Steel grey metallic
Front & rear parking sensors
Auto dimming rear view mirror
Heated front seats + vRS alcantara
Maxi dot computer
MDI
Towbar (removable)
18” ‘Neptune’ alloy wheels (Black)
Boot net
Rear window sun blind
Rear window roller blind

Its done around 8000 miles and is on a 13 plate.

Try Parkers.co.uk get a px price then knock off thousands until you start to cry. That'll be about the px you get offered.

Is it RHD, duty paid and with UK headlights? I ask having previously bought duty free when stationed in W Germany and Berlin.

This. I tried to PX a 3 year old A3 with 24k on the clock for a new car and almost everywhere offered me £2-3k less than the PX value that parkers quoted. The only place that gave me a decent price was Volvo who were desperate to sell me a V60 (I almost bit!). Whenever I quoted Volvos PX value elsewhere they just laughed. Sold private in the end. Got £2k more than Skoda offered me.

Get a value from webuyanycar and you won't be far off what you're likely to be offered as a part exchange.  Anyone offering £100s more in PX will probably have that as extra margin in their car - most garages will offer a few hundred quid off screen price if there is no PX, so take that into account to judge the true value you're being offered for your car.

I got £16k for my 62 plate Blackline hatch DGS with 6k on the clock against a new focus st. This was in mid september and i was happy enough.

My main dealer is offering me an insulting £13,700 for my 62' Blackline DSG. Webuyanycar and an Audi dealer £2k more. I don't think Skoda want my business.

Big petrol cars are undesirable to dealers. They take too long to sell and depreciate too quickly.

The more honest dealers told me straight up, "sorry the offer will be crap coz I really don't want your car as a trade in".

Aren't the Blackline versions diesel only? And probably still quote sought after.

I think we have to face facts that some of us got the VAT off offer as the Mark 2 ended its life in 2012 so that was a factor in decreasing values.

Now that the MK3 is here, values have plummeted. I am hoping to get 11K  part ex. off a 40,000 BMW! for my 2012  1.8 tsi L&K which has electric seats xenons everything else.

It all depends what car you want to P/X for. Noone is going to gladly offer you more than 30% or so off the price of your new car for a part ex.

I would assume at least £2,000 off the fair retail price for my part ex so £13,000 retail £11,000 part ex. if I'm lucky!

I was offered £14,500 on Saturday for my 62 plate 16.5K hatch manual Blackline. This is trade in so could get a lot more private.

I'm still amazed at the price I got my Blackline for.

Really - look about at what sort of sporty diesel with the included kit you can get for the money we paid. Then factor in the free servicing as well. They were a chuffing BARGAIN.

I'm hoping my Blackline with love and care will last us much longer than the 3 years finance package I bought in on. I'm just going to pay the final fee in another 2 years and keep it.

What car was that against buddy?

How you finding your ST buddy? I couldn't get on with mine.....bought it in December, but traded it in for the RS after only a few months. Was lucky to not get financially burned with it.

New MK3 VRs, need another grand to clear my finance. Probably look at middle of next year now.

Interesting. So you're looking at just shifting sideways into a new VRS ? Was the monthly cost the same? Sorry to be nosey.

By the way. I love the look of the new VRS......it's just the cost of them that frightens me now compared to the Blackline!

I just did a rough quote, with zero deposit it was about £40 more per month. When I traded my 10 plate VRs at 2 years before I knew it there was £1K on the table 50/50 split dealer/SUK.

I think once I load the options and get to a £27K car it's gonna be a whole lot more. Problem is your looking at Audi money then.

I will look again next year, hopefully all the teething issues on the MK3 will be fixed.

£27k? Yes, after a quick play on the Skoda website my choice of options pushed the price way up as well.

As much as I love the look of a nice shiny new blue VRS, the cost difference to the Blackline price is crazy!

You are looking at 135im money at 27k if you avoid the BMW options list. (discounts are available)
