LED BULBS

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've noticed in the darkening nights the almost useless reversing lights in the MK1. Can anyone recommend a bright (white, not blue) LED replacement? Also wanted to replace the 5w side light bulbs and the integrated fog/spot light bulbs with a brighter LED (CREE, error free) replacement.

My car is fitted with the bi-xenon headlight units.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Personally I would not bother. I tried the LED lights, inparticular for the same reason with the reversing lights. While the LEDS seem bright they do not actually light up the surrounding / area up as well as the light from a bulb. Thew reversing bulbs are already 21w so you need something more powerful.

In the end I got some Ring micro fog lamps and positioned them under the rear valance. Now its bright when reversing.

Thanks for that ...

Hm, some time ago, I had changed completely all lights into led bulbs. IMHO led bulbs are much better than standard one(especially for reversing lights). I had used Philips(Original).

Thanks MilanM, that's helpful. I do a lot of miles and now in the dark months, I really need brighter lighting.

Cheers,

Rob
