OMG Vrs mk1! - New Member

Featured Replies

Hi There,

I have had to get a new runaround as Ive been driving my wifes 1.4 diesel polo for 6 months, and I just couldnt bear it anymore!, so I sold the polo tank for 2.5 k and went looking for something a bit more fun but still practical, I toyed with the Vrs for years, but grew up in the 90s when a skoda was also a quick route to getting bullied!!, however I finally bit the bullet and picked up a black mark 1 with 64k mles and fsh 2.4k.....well the car is absolutely amazing, It is stable, fast, comfortable, fun to drive, and handles like a dream, I picked it up last night, and woke up at 0500 to take it for a spin, I think I may have found my dream car, - Possible remapping is also an option, but I do like the idea of it being totally stock

Anyway, hello all and Im going to read (hopefully) lots of stories about owners who have also got the bug!!

James

Hi, Im in Bromley, a bit uncertain about mapping, concerned its going to cause the engine to "blow up" or am I just being a bit naive? thanks very nice offer!

Welcome, I'm sure there are some remapping horror stories out there, but I did huge mileages in my Mk1 Octavia (1.8T) after it was mapped with no problems and neither did I have any issues after I mapped my T5 Transporter, the engine already having done 140,000 miles (1.9 Tdi)

Welcome.

If well maintained these engines are pretty bullet proof, maybe search the mk1 forum for oil pick up, I changed mine at 120k miles and it wasn't too bad.

Hey buddy. We are near to Brands Hatch. A stage one map will transform your car. Mine is Mapped by Rob at W8 performance in Tonbridge using Shark software. Search the web for Shark maps to see reviews. Cheers Pete.

Hi and welcome aboard.
