Featured Replies

Does anyone know the alternator pulley part number?

Or even better have the part number and manufacturer parts diagram.

Many thanks in advance :D

Have a look on here, should find your part number

Looks a handy website does that!

Is mine (54 reg mk1) a 1U or 1Z?

EDIT: Ignore that, Google shows it as a 1U

No idea mate, you can search by chassis number, you will find this on the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side.

The non vw part number is F-227628.6

The pulley is made by INA.

I would change the tensioner when you do the pulley.

Do you have the right tool to remove the pulley? You need a Sealey SX401 or similar.

You can get the pulley from Skoda, TPS, ECP, GSF or Ford (identical to the galaxy).

The pulley is also feckin tight, get some proper penetrating oil and preferably a proper impact wrench.

I got a friendly mechanic to change mine for a few quid (cheaper than buying the necessary tool) :-)
