P0183 Fuel Temperature Sensor A High Input

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and wondering if some of you guys may be able to point me in the right direction.

I have a 2005 Octavia II and 2 weeks ago the engine management light came on.

I investigated this and found out that the fault in question was P0183 Fuel Temperature Sensor A High Input.

I doubled checked the wiring as the year before i had the same fault and it was due to a broken wire at the sensor input.

All the wiring seems to be correct and when i check the read/gray wire with a multimeter off earth(Car body i get 5V)

This is leading me to believe it may not be the wiring.

I then replaced the sensor with a new Skoda fuel temperature sensor, cleared the fault and it returned after i restarted the car 2/3 times.

As i fixed the wire previously with connectors i checked the voltage accross the sensor when the light had came back on and i believe it was 5 volts.

I'm running out of ideas and wonder if anyone can offer me any advice/direction on what else can be checked .

Thanks Eamonn
