Stage 1Remap -DPF?

Featured Replies

If I have a Stage 1 Remap on my engine will it create more soot for the DPF to deal with?

Any one had a remap and had DPF problems? I don't mean if you have had it removed but retained it with the remap.

Don't want to increase power only to fork out for DPF later.

Thanks

4x4 140PD with DPF

  • 7 months later...

I have a 170PD and remapped via Shark Performance via their STS kit.  It's produced great performance, but seems to have a downside - it seems to clog the DPF a lot quicker - 2 days, instead of minimum 5 days.  I have tried driving it with gentle acceleration, but gather it produces more soot.

I'm severely tempted to have the DPF gutted out, but worried that it may affect MOT here in Northern Ireland.  The DPF is generally a pain in the backside on the PD engine.

Has anyone else got their 170PD engine remapped and experienced a similar issue with their DPF?
