Dashboard decorative strips

Featured Replies

i m looking forward to ordering the Dashboard decorative strips (5JB 858 134 AP4 for piano white), found in the newer versions of the Rapid.

i called the dealership, they had no clue, i guided them with the part number, they found it on their online catalogues and here is where the problems start:

1. they said they couldn't confirm if this would fit in the "older" Rapids.

2. they couldn't confirm if this part number consisted of both the parts (around the driver's side vent and in the bigger part on front of the passenger) or just the big one

3. i m not sure if this part number is for RHD (like in UK) or LHD (like in Greece) Rapids...

4. they said something around120 euros, which is too much IMHO.

5. is it placed (does it come) with self adhessive 3M tape?

i would appreciate if someone could help.

Thx!

I would be interested in this also!! In fact I reckon a lot of the bits on the newer rapids surely must be just clip/stick on (i.e. chrome vent surrounds etc...)??? Would love to get em!

looking at the diagrams @ partsbase, it looks like the decorative strip is secured in place with some bolts that bolt somewhere under/inside the air vents (probably have to be removed for installation).

i checked a couple of sallon and spaceback at the dealership with the strip and i can't believe the difference it makes this little detail...

unfortunately no one around here knows anything about it (installation etc etc)...

the decorative strips consist of two parts, one for the driver's side and one for the center-passenger's side

in the chart, these are #10 and #11

they seem to be secured on place with torx (probably somewhere inside the vents).

of course there are two different part numbers for each piece (RHD and LHD).

i can't tell for sure, which is which...

im pretty sure they can be retrofitted, but local Skoda knew nothing about it.

if someone gives it a shot, pls let us know.

Oh poo yer joking! I thought it just went over the existing dash!!! That means an entire new dashboard!!

Homemade it is then.

A carefully measured slice of carbon wrap I think.

Woo mega bucks [emoji57]

Yes the old wrap would be better there.

I like those inserts a lot too. But my dealer told me it wasn't possible. If somebody finds a way, please tell.

I just painted the surround of the radio, its easyer and cheaper... :-/

You can see the result in my poject topic
