Skoda Fabia Comfort 2002 battery removal.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I wonder if someobdy can help me. My battery is completely dead. I've tried charging it but no luck. So, I'm going to have to purchase a new batter and hopefully fit it myself. How do I do this? There's nothing really obvious for me to undo. I'd really appreciate some help.

Also, if anybody knows what battery I should replace it with? Thank you.

You may have a petrol engined fabia, you don't say, so if you do you need an 063 type battery 12V 65Ah. You need 10mm and 13mm sockets, long extension and a ratchet, undo the 13mm bolt holding the battery retention plate in front of the battery box down low, open box, loosen 10mm negative terminal and remove, same for positive, lift battery out of the box with its tea cosy still on, replace battery in tea cosy and refit.

emphasise -REMOVE BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD FIRST. Replace NEGATIVE lead LAST. Removes possibility of positive terminal shorting to body .
