Minor vRS Rattle Fix

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Not earth shattering fix, you may notice a rattle from the rear of the car; it could be the seat belt buckles hitting together.

I have put a piece of Velcro (the furry bit) on one buckle to cure the issue.

I often have the back seats flat for transporting my gear and this rattle was coming and going.

This may have been mentioned before.

Also line the glove boxes with a soft material and clear out all the random crap from the door pockets / cubby holes etc. I did a thorough car clean on sunday and did this and it now sounds more like the rattle-free newish car it should be!

There's a common fault with the rear drivers door, it can rattle when closed against the loop that's fixed to the body.

Mine was doing it so I wrapped some black electrician's/insulating tape around the loop where the door catch locks to it and hey presto, it's gone.

I've done the same to the other rear door and the hatch just to make sure but I'm now rattle free.

It may not be the same problem with yours but it has been mentioned in other threads on here and they've all done the same fix.

You may as well give it a try, it's costs nothing.
