Cd Changer Compatability

Featured Replies

Despite the VRS CD changer being Panasonic i have been informed that getting a Panasonic HU to operate it is impossible.

Is this true or is it possible to get, it working.

Also is replacing HU and Changer is it possible to keep the existing connector wires to the HU to save on re-wiring?

The existing changer won't work with anything but the standard Symphony unit.

In theory it should be possible to rewire the loom to support a new HU and changer. I'd advise not being put off by the thought of rewiring though, it is dead easy to do with a bit of patience. I swapped my lot out for Alpine gear, and that really was as easy as running a single cable along the side - probably easier than messing around with the existing wires, and nice and reversible at trade-in!

Yep , replace the HU and changer but leave the standard cables alone so its just a quick swap back when you come to change the car.
