boot light

Featured Replies

I have estate elegance, and just one side light (on the left side) in boot sector. Question is: where is light on the right side? Becuse there is a hole with black plastic cover, but there isn't light source. Is it possible to easy add second light? What should I do?

Don't you have a cigarette lighter socket in the boot of the elegance estate? Plug-in lights for these sockets are available, I think.

yes i know, but i want to have two lights emeded in both left and right sides. left i already have, but insted of right one, just empty space with cover. Plug-in lights mean just one more thing in the boot and need to be plug and unplug every time... :(

so, is there anyone with estate model in elegance pack who has two lights in the boot?

Mum's elegance estate has two as did my dads old ambient estate, dont know why you only have one m8

EDIT: Sorry only read Elegance estate.... didnt think to look at type of car... ignore my quote its for octavias, sorry

Would have said if the hole is already there you may be able to get one from either a scrappy or the dealer. Wiring-wise it should be pretty easy too, drop a (set of) wire(s) from the one that currently goes on/off with the boot-switch to the second one. I would imagine feeding the wire under the carpet in the boot, as close to rear of the vehicle as possible you should be ok. Secure it down with a bit of tape, carpet back over the top, should work a treat.

It might even be worth just getting some quotes from the dealers, half hour labour tops I would have said, but then I'm guessing :D

My old (51 reg - bought in 2002) PD100 Comfort Estate has boot lights on both sides as standard.

I guess old Elegance Estates would have had them as standard at that age too, but I see the new estates don't, even on the Elegance spec - here in UK at least.
