After fitting a new front wheel bearing I am not getting a speed signal from that side. I fitted 2 new sensors but it didn't help. What is the sensor sensing? Is the abs ring integrated into the bearing or inside the driveshaft/Cv-joint? I cannot see a ring anywhere

it is part of the wheelbearing seal mate, either got damaged during the fitting of it or a cheap bearing that has no magnetis strips embedded in it.

Clean the sensor ring with a cotton bud dipped in methylated spirits.

Ok, I will clean or fit a new bearing then.

Is it possible to fit it wrong way round? Ive seen the wheel bearing on other vehicles that need to be fitted a certain oriantation

If I remember it correctly it came with the "hub" or whatchamacallit (the part that the wheel bolts are threaded into) so it shouldn't be possible. This was a low priced bearing but it was specifically for vehicles with ABS
