Hi all are there any owners of a 1.6tdi dsg and was wondering what your views are on the car eg economy. Many thanks for your views.

I had one on loan for 24 hours while I sold my old motor and waited for prep of the vrs. Not a bad wee motor, 55 plus mpg over 100odd mile mixed driving

I have had one for 3 months over 6k miles, worst mpg so far on brim to brim measure 57 best 65. I replaced my 1.6tdi Octavia 2 manual with it and have to say have found the mpg about the same.

Prefer the car with the dsg box it seems quicker and works better having the extra 2 gears, only thing I would say is mark 2 is built better and has a softer ride, I find the Octavia 3 ride a bit harder at times and find it has a few more rattles because of this.

Yes was a dsg with about 4k on clock. I admit to finding it very jumpy in traffic but then I was coming from a fully automatic 3.0v6 diesel which was silky smooth in all conditions

Over 2000 miles now & 1.6 DSG in Elegance trim is superb, no jumpiness,no rattles and with a consistent 55 mpg before the cold spell is very pleasing. It has dropped to 51mpg but I reckon that's the result of the colder weather and shorter trips undertaken.

Am I pleased ? That' s like saying is Luis Suarez any good !?!

The car is brilliant and I could not be more pleased - enjoy !

I now know I made the right choice about the car. Yeah winter will lower mpg but that's still much better than my last car that did about 28 mpg. not sure about Suarez but then again who is? I went for Black magic with beige leather.;
