Fabia 1.9tdi 2002 155k Red oil light has just started flashing and beeping. Checked oil levels and these are ok. Last Oil change 2000miles ago. The trip computer is showing oil change service each time I switch on as we did not reset trip computer after oil change. Could this affect things? Otherwise I have read it could be the switch. Any advice would be really welcome.

It's a pressure warning light, not a level warning light

Red = bad= STOP!

If you do have an oil pressure problem then you could kill the turbo.

Change oil pressure switch

Or... Just check the oil pressure.

As said its a general warning light regarding oil, not just a level sensor.

History is that since the coilovers were done, the front-left top mount has aways creaked on turning; classic top mount sound of juddering movement. I've tried rotating the spring a little in case that's a difference but I need to do try some more just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. In the meantime, the front right has developed a creak which is different. It's a heavier creaky rubber feel to it which is triggered on minor movement/weight shift. Going over speedbumps obviously makes

Little update since i posted about my Superb 280 going stage 2 back in may. I have questioned the high torque figure ( 618nm) with the tuner and was assured that it's a safe map, ok i left it at that. Three days after remap, car starts burning oil without even being pushed hard. So i switched to thicker 5w40 Castrol Edge ( issue rectified) Week later i pinned it from traffic lights and car cut power after 5000rpm. Gear changes felt really rough and jerky. Questioned it with the tuner, got nowher

Superb L&K - May, 2026 After driving in the rain and using the wipers for a while, I’ve noticed two strange things: Once the rain stops and the wipers stop running, a hazy/milky-looking area appears along the lower part of the windshield (on the outside). It looks almost like fog, but it’s definitely on the exterior. If I run the wipers again, it disappears, but after they stop, it gradually comes back, then fades away on its own after a few minutes. Have a very frustrating problem with my Fabia... The rear offside brake cylinder developed a bad leak, braking power very poor, near home so very carefully managed to get it home. Left it outside, pouring rain. Next day I discovered the cylinder had seemingly emptied a lot of brake fluid overnight. I couldn't do anything with it for a week.
