Managed to get my local dealer to match the carwow obtained quote from Alex Lawrie in Liverpool, namely 6% discount of total price on the 0% deal and free servicing.

Just the small matter of an estimated 21 week wait now! Let the countdown begin.

TDI or TSI?

TDI. I haven't owned a diesel before but the combination of £30 a year tax and £225 fully comp insurance made it so much easier a choice! I pay £260 a year now to tax my RenaultSport!

I was torn between petrol and diesel but I recently had a mk6 golf GT 140 as a hire car for a few days and was astonished just how good a car it was and how much modern diesels had improved.

If I average 45mpg in the vRS I'll save £100 A month in running costs in the next 3 years which covers almost half of the finance payment. The tsi couldn't have given me that so diesel it is.
