Switcg radio off on Columbus

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a brand new (Dec 2013) Superb Elegance, with Columbus satnav/audio.  All works fine, but I haven't managed to find a way to turn off the audio without turning the whole unit off - if I'm using the satnav and have been listening to the radio but want to (in effect) turn the radio off.  I can turn the radio volume down, but that seems to turn the satnav instructions volume down at the same time, which doesn't help. I'd be grateful if anyone else out there can advise on a way to do this.

Thanks

Not tried it myself but I believe this is the only way it can be done:

Turn the sat nav on and start a route,

turn the radio down as normal

press the right knob this will repeat the last sat nav instruction, so turn the volume up to increase the sat nav volume.

Or you could enable the Aux input in the menu, and select that instead of the radio with nothing connected.

Yes, remember that satnav lady, traffic announcements and media (radio + music) all have separately settable volume levels BUT they have to be actually playing when you change it or all you will change will be the media level. That's why, as Gizmo68 correctly says, pressing the right-hand knob will repeat the last satnav announcement which is useful to allow level setting. You'll soon get used to it.

Thanks, hadn't realised about the right-hand button, that does the trick.
