Child seat official accessory question

Featured Replies

Well,

We use our Maxi Cosi Pearl seat freely in my wife's Toyota Auris, but we sometimes we had trouble with the full decline position in my Octy Mk2 (sold last week!) - because the top of the child seat was blocked by the back seat. In these cases we had to extend to full lenght the  ISOFIX connectors.

While waiting for the Octy3 to arrive, I was thinking of buying a second seat just for convenience and have naturally started looking for one. Browsing through Amazon and reading reviews I see many people have the same problem as we did OR their seats just don't have a proper decline position.

So I was thinking has anyone tried the official accessory child seats. Surely if it is an official accessory it should have the same issues?

And namely this one from the catalogue: DDA 000 006? Do you know what is the brand, i.e. Britax, Maxi Cosi, Recaro etc?

Alternatively if you know or have tried another seat that can properly decline in an Octy3 please share your opinions - will be highly appreciated :) Our Octy3 estate shall be here by mid-January so I plan to have a new seat in place by then.

Never had a problem with ours in the Mk2.

You shouldnt use the base with the isofix arms extended for safety.

PUFPAF, i have a O3 estate with a Besafe x3 something, this seat kan recline/tilt and also face fw and aft. This seat is the main reason for my O3 purchase, as it is way to big in a BMW 3 series..

My 19 month old kid seems to enjoy his seat and i belive that he is comfortable over longer trips..

Exactly, I want to avoid it with the new car :)

As an update, today I received feedback from the dealer about the official accessory child seat.

They were unable to tell me the exact brand/manufacturer, but they assured me it is made in Germany. And therefore the price is EUR 650 (!!!)

Anyway, obviously I am not buying a child seat at this price :)

So please share what you are using on your Octy 3... I am looking for Group I child seat (9 - 18kg). Thanks!

As ive already said, it is made by britax, called the Britax Duoplus and can be bought from £120

We have a Besafe izi combi x3 isofix. (0-18kg/0-4 year) It works both ways, not just like in the picture.

Rear facing with isofix and forward facing without.

We also have one without isofix that is 0-25 kg that works both ways, Besafe izi plus.

I'd suggest you go and have a look at Cybex Pallas 2 and/or competitors using a similar system. It's always been in the top regarding child safety and it also can be used all the way up to 12 years of age. So no more replacing of seats.
