sooo these virba technics engine mounts

Featured Replies

I almost bought the engine and gearbox mounts from darkside last night untill I went to checkout and the vat was added :(

has anyone used them, what they like on a tdi? I am after something I can fit on the rally car and not worry about, I'm not too concerned about the vibes really just keeping the engine and box in it's place so the shafts and stuff have an easier time of it.

anyone got one in the shed they aren't using ? :)

I had the vibratechnics top box mount, it vibrated initially but really died down after a while. Coupled with a powerflex dogbone bush the engine was rock solid, no rocking at all.

Highly recommended. Speak to Awesome gti, they can probably do you a better deal ;)

Ps don't buy the lower box mount just stick a polybush into the standard one.

I had all 3 vibrateknics mounts in my golf gt tdi

Definately not made for the road, but in a rally car they would be awesome

If you sat a coke can in my golf's cup holder it used to jump around and do pirrouttes!

Was hilarious! Was at the dentist weekly to replace fillings

there was an interesting article in practical perfomance car recently about engine mountings ans suspension bushes etc, what they were doing is getting some of that 2 part self mix urethane stuff where you just pour it into a rubber mounting to fill the voids up and it sets off hard. might be quite an interesting and cheaper option for you jim

That's mainly down to the vibratechnics bottom dogbone bush Jase, the top two are quite tame lol

Not quite so easy with the fabia engine mount tho, it seems to be the actual metal bit that is the weak link, already broken 1 on the 1.6 car, think I need to get my designer head back on and fab some up as can't afford that sort of money just yet..

If you were going to get one wouldn't it benefit from getting them all at the same time thow because surely a standard one would wear out if it was couples with a harder/solid mount

I have the lower one for several years now.  It sure does give some vibrations still, but I am used to it.  My passengers usually are not.

I am still using PD100 mounts at the top :D   They don't seem to suffer and still in good order.  The lower one does all the work for holding engine still it seems.
