Tough tablet sleeve

Featured Replies

Right I have just got myself a samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 and in need of a decent tough sleeve for it due to the nature of my job.

I have had a quick google and havent had much joy the only option ive come across is the otterbox defender series. Anyone got one of these or recommend anything else?

Ideally i would prefer a sleeve to a case as its big enough to hold as it is lol

Thanks in advance

Glynn

Griffin Defenders are very good if they make one, I ran my iPhone over with a 30tonne loading shovel (it fell out the window!) and it did survive!

I looked at the griffin range but nothing for the tab 3 or generic 7" tablets

found a sleeve called g form extreme looks pretty much indestructable so bought it only £40!

Sounds a bit cheap for something that's meant to protect well.

It was on offer supposed to be £60ish.

Aslong as it stops my tablet getting crushed in my bergen happy days!!

:-)

There are some great cases out there but the issue is that not all the manufacturers make them for all the different tablets or phones.  I would suggest a Tech 21 case (as they have the D2O rights) but I don't think they do one for the Tab 3.

What type of protection do you need?  Is it something to protect from a drop, impact or being stored as you say at the bottom of a Bergen?  The different cases will all do subtly different things and you need to make sure that the tough case you choose has the toughness you actually need.

The g form extreme i bought in the end had a video of a bowling ball being dropped on it and being dropped from 50,000ft, not a scratch! Being in a bergen it shouldnt get anywhere near that much abuse....i hope :/

Had a look at their site and videos and they look quite a similar material to the Tech 21 stuff, in that it is flexible but stiffens upon impact. This is great for protecting against the test they show but as I said not against all forms of impact. I would be wary of it being pierced by something pointed.

Reminded me of the video a few years back when the reporter broke the 'unbreakable' phone in front of the inventor on camera.
