Help?Engine in limp mode (exhaust sensor fault?)

I have recently replaced the turbo on my Superb 2.0 TDi (2005 model) but had a problem with the manifold gasket which meant I was driving it for a week or so with a bad manifold leak which covered the engine bay in soot but also caused the 'particulate filter instruct' warning to come on.

I have now removed the turbo again and sorted the gasket ( not a job you want to do twice) but I have another problem, the particulate warning is still on but the car is stuck in limp mode, i have tried a manual regen run a few times but i dont know if this works when the car is in limp.

SInce doing the second job I have another error code which is P0546- exhaust gas temp sensor high/malfunction, My OBD reader cant clear the fault as it returns instantly.

So can anyone tell me exactly where this sensor is, I have read that it can be linked out with a resistor but I am not sure where Im looking and im sure i am not doing the DPF any good driving the car in limp.

I am hoping to get access to VAGCOM in a few days to do a forced Regen but need to sort this other fault first I think.

No suggestions at all chaps???

If you've been running adblue (which is the wrong fluid) could it be that the DPF is blocked? 

Could you have damaged the sensor or wiring whilst taking turbo on and off?

Sorry to write this, but you do have the worst engine possible combined with the worst DPF design. So many factors that could be the problem.  :sweat:

Trundlenut is correct, It turns out I had caught the end of the manifold temp sensor and broken it, When I got the car hooked up to the VCDS it was showing 900deg and 95% blocked DPF!!!

However once we linked out the temp sensor with a resistor and ran the car up the motorway the soot level started to come down slowly to 80% We cleared all faults and It then started to do a Regen, exhaust temp went from 220 to 500degrees :sweat:  but within ten minutes the DPF had dropped right down to 12% and the car was running perfectly.

So for the first time in a long time the car had proper boost and ran well, Great News you might think, however....

Drove from St Helens to the Birmingham NEC (106miles) absolutely perfect, halfway  home we stopped at the services for fuel, pulled back on to the motorway and immediately got the dreaded oil pressure warning & stop engine :wall:

Knowing how prone the 2.0l is to oil pump failure I stopped on the hard shoulder, engine sounded perfect and temp was normal, so drove it one mile to the next junction. The engine does not have any obvious symptoms of engine oil pressure failure, It idled fine for twenty minutes and sounds normal when revved other than being in Limp mode (for a change!!) I have now recovered the car home and it still sounds mechanically fine other than a bit of a mysterious noise when you rev then lift off the throttle, it sounds like a little tweet or squeak which appears to be coming from the DPF plumbing at the top of the engine?

 

It idles ok but The oil pressure light comes on when you rev the engine up, but there is no other symptoms so I either have a faulty pressure sensor (im not that lucky) or I have some low oil pressure?
