Service For Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have an Octavia 2011 diesel 1600 the last service I had was last year 28/01/13 In the service book it states next service as per display. Would you recommend this or at 12 months? Also what milage would you recommend for the cam belt to be changed?

There are two types or service interval to choose from:

Fixed. This is set to 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever is reached first. Ideal for low annual mileage or frequent short journeys.

Variable. This is up to 2 years or approx 20,000 miles. The car monitors the number of cold starts, journey times and the oil viscosity etc. and decides when it needs a service. More suitable for higher annual mileage and/or frequent motorway journeys.

How many miles do you do per year? This is only my personal preference but I prefer fresh oil at least once a year. I wouldn't be happy with up to 2 year old oil.

Pricing and what is changed under each of the two service types can be found here...

The cambelt change is dictated by mileage and/or time. The time interval is a blanket 4 years. The mileage will be detailed in the owners manual or by quoting your VIN to Skoda UK customer services (08457 745745).
