Thought i just throw this up having a little conversation with GFWC on Instagram.

 

For those who admire paint work and try your up most to maintain it. me being one. What was your Pre winter stages for Protection?

 

As now winter is among us, what products are you using to help protect your Skoda?

 

My quick run down,

 

Last September my pre winter start

 

Paint

 

Rinsed car with Water

Wash -  (two bucket method) - Checmical guys Citrus Was with a wash mit then rinse / dry

Clay - Dodo Juice supernatural medium and rinse over / dry

Polish stage one - Scholl S17+ on a Orange Hex pad. - DAS6 Pro

Polish stage two - Scholl S30+ on a Black Hex pad.  - DAS6 Pro

IPA whiles between each to get rid of polish residue and rinse

Detailed - Sonax Extreme Shine Detailer

Sealant - AF Tough Coat

Wax - Poor Boys Blue Natty Paste

 

Seats

Clean - Chemical guys Fabric cleaner

 

Windows

Sonax Extreme Shine Detailer

 

Trim

Inside and out - Auto Smart trim dressing.

 

Wheels / Tyres

Clean AF imperial wheel cleaner

Seal - Poorboys wheel sealant

Tyres - GTechniq T1 Tyre and trim

 

From then on its Just

 

Wash with a two bucket method, Dry and Sonax Extreme Shine Detailer. I can leave the car over a month and the dirt will fall off with ease. The only difference now is i no longer wax through the winter. I add a layer of FK 1000P Sealant. As its lasts longer then wax. It beads fantastic ans gives me great protection.

 

This may not be everyones protocol or products, as everyone has their one style.

Paint and fresh air mainly.

I did have a couple of coats of Angel wax on but since a rust bubble has opened I've not looked much near it.

Alot of work? Not really. I guess it depends weather you enjoy cleaning your car or even your car in general.

By the way rob what size of rims and tyres are you running on the fabia on flicker and how much is your car lowered. cheers.

17x7.5j ET 40  running 20 and 23mm adapters. 195/40/17 Falken tyres.

 

Front goes down 110mm im down about 95mm

Rear i have remove one adjuster ring. So not sure how low it is.

The carlack AIO is pretty good as well. Have a look at all the positive reviews on the Clean your Car website. It's perfect for people who don't want to be messing about cleaning, polishing, waxing their cars every week or so. Plus when you wash it which I do weekly, it's so quick and easy.

 

Their forum has a wealth of information on it.

Body,

AD snow foam custard

Auto smart tardis

Washed, two bucket method

Clayed

Rewashed

AD cherry glaze, only done by hand

AD obsession x2 coats

Wheels

AD very cherry non acid wheel cleaner

Dodo juice super natural hybrid wax

Since that the car has only been washed once and only does 6 miles a day so protection is still ok but if we get a half decent day a top up of protection will be applied
