Decent Cheapish iPod HU

Featured Replies

Hi all.

My mk1 octy has a cheapo Sony HU, and the CD Changer's been removed (water in the boot, Changer died etc). Looking around I think it's one of these: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_944639_langId_-1_categoryId_165655

I've no problem with the sound quality from the Sony, but it lights up red rather than green (pet hate in cars is non colour matched illumination) and the only iPod hookup is via a front mount aux cable.

In a previous car I had an Alpine HU with rear mount iPod hookup - iPod sat nicely in the glovebox out of the way and I had full control via the dash unit - but that was years ago.

What I want is something for ideally under £100 with CD player as well as iPod hookup with iPod control - preferably rear in rather than a messy looking front in connection. Oh and it must either light up a nice Skoda green or have the ability to alter illumination colour to suit :)

No idea on car audio tbh so open to suggestions...

Thanks!
