Picked up my 2005 Fabia VRS last night. had a 30 mile trip home and In any car that has it I like to use the cruise control.

 

After flicking it on I noticed no lights or indication on dash came up. Also it didn't actually do anything.

 

Is there a simple fix to this? or has someone possibly mapped it off the car as its had a few mods done to it?

think the stalk is added on after, maybe they haven't wired it up fully yet.

 

 

they are sold on ebay and retro fitted suppose to be quite simple to fit! if you have the original documents then check if it is factory fitted, or in the boot under the carpet there should be a plate with all the build spec you'll be able to check the codes on here. do a search in the handy fabia 1 guide there will be a thread in there.

No lights come on when it's working anyway. Cant help further with fixing it though. 

Nothing lights up on mine. Make sure your doing constant speed i find mine doesnt like it if a fluctuate speed when trying to press it.

When cc is on you dont have a light. Check its wired correctly. You can turn it on with VCDS Lite (free download), just google VCDS lite. You can get it off Rosstec's website. You'll also need an mpps/kkl cable but cant remember which one, again get involved with google. Ive done mine. Its easy enough mate.

Mine doesn't have any light on either it's just a simple switch on and off, you have to be doing a certain speed before it actually works

All of the above is presuming you know how to turn it on!!!! 

 

Incase you don't, pull the switch to the on position.get to your desired speed and slide the switch back towards the end of stalk, cc should now be on.

You can use the same switch to increase your speed once cc is on, use the one on the end of the stalk to resume cc if you've had to brake etc. 

Mine works the reverse, the button on the end sets it and the slide is to resume. It has on the top "RES - ON - STOP"

Would a sealey vag com be able to check it and switch it on if it's off?

I don't get any lights on mine when cc is working.....

A faulty brake light switch or clutch pedal switch will not allow it to come on as well.  Worth mentioning.
