Interior swap out, what do you recommend? Golf mk4?

Featured Replies

I have a fabia 1.4 16v elegance which has the horrible beige interior..are there any other cars that have door cards and seats etc that will plug and play..as to speak or with minimal rework?

Ive seen a set of mk4 golf interior heated seats which look good :) but unsure on whether the interior would fit too!

Doubt it, the golf is a bigger car.

Polo would be a better starting point tbh.

no score

my Recaro interior came out of a Golf and is deffo not a straight swap

Only door cards which are going to plug and play will be a Fabia.

Even ones from the same floor pan cars (Polo/Ibiza) have different shaped door trims

.

The seats however will plug and play from either of those - a mk4 Ibiza or a 9n or 9n3 Polo

Fronts will just bolt straight in as replacements.

Rears may be a slightly different shape but will have the same fixing points so again will bolt straight in.

That said I've done both Golf Recaro and Octavia half leather conversions and assuming you're prepared to take your beige seats appart (not like they'd fetch much if you sold them anyways) it isn't a massive amount of work

have a read of my thread here

and Sam's thread here

both contain loads of pictures and are pretty indepth.

Process will be exactly the same for any Golf/Octavia Interior not just the Recaro ones

That's brilliant I'll take a look! I stumbled across your diary on here yesterday..it's kept me chuckling! Keep it coming :)

It is easier than it looks/reads when your doing it I did it from reading them threads I had no previous experience with seats
