Clutch reccomendations

Featured Replies

Hi all

My car is in need of a new clutch, it has reached 120K miles and recently had a remap- so you'd might imagine it is slipping and juddering slightly

My query to you all is has anyone got any recommendations on brand/ pricing?

The 2 I have seen so far seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum-the Darkside Sachs kit (http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/sachs-1-9-tdi-dual-mass-flywheel-and-clutch-kit-for-vw-passat-audi-a4-and-audi-a6.html) being more expensive at around £350.00 and this cheaper ebay one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300658595438?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649) at only £66.00 for the kit...Does anyone have any feedback on Transmech?

Interestingly, ebay has a Sachs kit (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-SACHS-CLUTCH-KIT-3000-951-210-AUDI-A4-B5-8D-B6-8E-B7-8E-8H-1995-08-/370985218719?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ASuperb&hash=item566071329f)

Coming in at only £110- does this seem right to you guys?

Thanks

Just recently I changed my clutch on 2.5TDI. I got this and am very happy with it so far. No issues with installation. Even though it was branded Borg & Beck on the box, it was stamped LUK on the metalwork.

Many thanks, will certainly give that some consideration.

I've noticed LUK and a few others as well on the ECP website, which has a 15% off currently too. So, that may be a winner :)

Even better, pop the same part number into the www.carparts4less.co.uk (it's part of the same company as ECP) website and you will probably find the identical clutch cheaper still.  Don't foget the code for £5, £10 or £15 discount too!

Great tip thank you!!

Also, would you all recommend change the DMF while I'm there- the price increases quite dramatically if I do!
