Got my car back...

Featured Replies

Well, that's me just picked up my car after it being with Skoda for 6 weeks. Total ownership time by me - 8 weeks; Aberdeen Skoda dealership - 6 weeks.

They have been great, give them their dues, it was the mechanics that picked up on this when I went to get the possessed stop / start looked at.

Flywheel replaced and clutch re-aligned.

Clutch pedal roller bearings replaced.

Broken door handle (from factory) replaced.

Fingers crossed it is okay. I've got a trip down to Glasgow with the family tomorrow, my wife is a bit nervous of going in this car now...At least I have someone to push it if it breaks down.

Wow, quite a list, fingers crossed for you buddy.

Good to read a fairly positive dealer experience....

All good it's fixed but I'd be raising a case with Skoda UK just in case. It also might get a bit of feedback for the factory. Just maybe!

Totally agree with Mike.

Thanks Guys, it was almost fixed...... I got into the middle of Aberdeen and the car was freezing cold with the temperature gauge moving rapidly towards 90.... The tech had managed to dislodge one of the heat diverter valves. The good news is it got fixed straight away, only took an hour or so once I got the car back which left me in the middle of aberdeen rush hour !!!!! :-(  No point in going off the rocker with them, we have all made mistakes once in our lives.

I am going to bring up the car problems with Skoda as a complaint, as it left the factory with most of the issues and the 6 week delay was spare parts backorder. I certainly can't blame anyone else but Skoda for that.

Bizarrely, I now have a new option in my satnav. 'Traffic Sign Detection' This certainly wasn't there before. I have the fancy camera behind the rear view mirror, NO lane assist and only the Amundsen sat nav. Looks like the techs must have upgraded / switched something on.

Anyway, who cares it's something new and it works, happy days.

I think the user Andyvee would be most interested in all that. :)

And congrats on getting your car fixed and running again. Hopefully will be the last troubles you've had with it.

Just away to try the new cable I've got for my Iphone 5s to see if I can play video with it on the Amundsen.

If it works I'll make a separate post with the cable number on it for everyone else to try out.

I am interested in this as I have a very early MKIII (may13) and I have a camera behind the mirror. If there is a BIOS update that uses it I would be really interested.

I'm no expert, but in the standard Bolero unit (i.e. no satnav) the Lane Assist function is switched on and off via a Set Up sub-menu (for Driving Assistants maybe?). I think that as you have the camera which is giving you traffic sign recognition you must also be able to get Lane Assist. Suggest you have a look through the menu options.
