Fabia Elegance - Comer Alloys - Problems?

Featured Replies

Hi All

I may be able to get hold of a new Elegance estate fairly quickly, instead of having to wait the full estimated 17 weeks build time.

So, I'll have to forget about extras, but my main concern is the car on offer is fitted with the standard Comet alloys (instead of the Elba design, which I prefer). The spoke design of the Comets suggests that they will project just outside of the tyre wall, and may therefore be vulnerable to 'kerbing'. Has anyone got experience of this, or am I worrying about nothing?

(I have to be careful with my VW camper van, as the 'Miyato' alloys are vulnerable in this way)

Thanks

Les

I dont know. But i have seen tyres that are designed with a rubber ring around the alloy. This is supposed to hit the curb and save your alloy.

I dont know if thats any help to you :)
