rear badging .

Featured Replies

Seen two wierde  rear badging on TDI MK1 Fabias recently . First one sported a 1.9TDI badge on the rear end. According to Haynes there's only one 1.9TDI, and manual covers Vrs model, so I presume a 1.9TDI should be badged vrs. Possibly someone is messing with badges. Then today I caught up with an 05 plate Fabia with a rear badge "TDI", NOT 1.4TDI as mine has.

So ,was there ever a 1.9TDI ( nor VRS) and do 05 onwards 1.4TDI have just TDI on the rear badge.

There's a 1.9 tdi 100bhp and then there's the 130bhp which is the vrs

Thanks, Kyle- Noticed the two engine variants in Haynes, but no real mention of difference,as I always thought a four pot TDI was a Vrs. just replied to someone with a 1.9TDI, but thought the "T" was possibly a mis type. What amazed me was that no version of the 1.4 /70 BHP was ever thought of being offered in 100BHP format with an uprated braking system .

Mine says 1.9TDi, it's a PD100 not a vRS. There's also the 1.9SDi. I've only ever seen a vRS badge on a vRS, never a 1.9TDi vRS. The vRS badge under the 'fabia' badge replaces the other badges which show either engine size and TDi/MPI/HTP/SDi or TDi/MPI/HTP/SDi without showing the engine size. Edit, as mentioned, engine size could be dependent on model year.

The front discs on a 1.4TDi are the same size as those on a 1.9TDi PD100 AFAIK (256mm) The vRS has 288mm front discs.
