Quick (and obvious) LED bulb retrieval tip

Featured Replies

Recently I managed to ‘drop’ an LED sidelight into the headlight unit (both sides).  After a couple of minutes of swearing and muttering to myself, I came up with the obvious idea of putting a blob of blu-tack on the end of piece of wire coat hanger and popping it through the bulb holes to retrieve said bulbs. After poking around for a while… success!  I managed to stick the blu-tack to the LED’s and slowly retrieve them.

I know this is an obvious thing to do. But you never know, it might be helpful to someone else who hasn’t thought of it and finds themselves in the same predicament.

I used a very similar technique, however with plastic straws (more flexible, e.g ones from McDonalds) and double sided sticky tape :-)

I took the headlight out when I done this then shaked it around in the air haha
