V Reg Skoda Oktavia Help!

Featured Replies

I had the misfortune of having my back windscreen go a few days ago - what happened was that I was at a wedding driving to the reception when my passenger (back driver side) was fiddling with the electric windows when it made a grinding noise, and the window stuck "half way" up... I prodded it later on and saw the pane of glass slide down, as if it had been depressed all the way to the bottom.

Now, clearly something has gone, my friend removed parts of the door and duck taped the window to the side of the door!

Apparently one of the plastic gadgets which pulls up and down the window has broken -

so I have 4 questions:

1) should I go to an "Official skoda dealer"?

2) Are there any places in or near Coventry which you could recommend?

3) What should the cost of fixing this be?

4) What is the gadget called I need to get?

Any help would be great, as I'm not too hot on car names and parts!

Thanks,

Jonty

You need a new window regulator, very common indeed.

You dont have to go to a dealer but id recommend it as they will have done plenty of these.
