has anyone replaced the seals in there steering rack yet, or is everyone just replacing the whole rack?

the rack m8 just done mine had a faulty 1 replaced for free

How long does it take to replace? Garage advised that I need a new one and was just wondering roughly what the labour charge would be?

I think when an oil leak occurs the whole rack itself has to be replaced.

As to cost, most garages have a log that gives them an idea how long each job takes.

Try a Skoda dealership as they all the right tools and should be just that little-bit-more clued-up..perhaps quicker?
