Does 15" alloy wheels fit the new generation?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I will soon be joining the Octavia 5E owners club with a 1.8 TSI DSG Combi in Candy White.

The car will be delivered with 18" alloy wheels and summer tires. I have a set 15" alloy wheels (original Skoda part) with winter tires on. They are from a second generation Octavia but will they fit on my new car?

I doubt it as expect the 1.8 TSi will have 312mm front brakes; 16" wheels will be the smallest diameter that would clear the front callipers.

You're right, according to the dealer the Octavia 5E can run on 15" wheels but the 1.8TSi needs to be running on 16"...

Thank you for your reply.

Welcome

AFAIK, the 1.6 TDI and the 1.2 TSI can use the 15" wheels. Everything else goes from 16" and up.

Indeed, 288mm's would fit with 15" spare wheels. My old Fabia vRS with 288mm fronts ran 205/45 17's but the spare was a 195/55 r15 I believe.

you *might* be able to run the 15 wheels with a spacer!
