Pulled a coilpack today and noticed it was totally lacking in a VW group part number, or even a bosch number.  There was 1 random set of numbers and that's it.   Looks exactly the same as others, and car runs fine.  

I've seen aftermarket ones (with codes such as 7003A) and fake Bosch ones.

Yes of course you can get non oem ones

I fitted a non oem coil pack years ago not long after I bought the car. My car had a slight misfire the whole time it was in. Not thinking anything of it as it was new. It was only when I replaced it the misfire went. I wouldn't use anything other than genuine coilpacks now.
